FIRES.
ROPEWORKS ABLAZE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedra, Yesterday. A fire occurred at Donaghy's ropeworks, South Dunedin, on Saturday night. The damage is roughly estimated at £BOOO and the l - insurances totalled £16,000. About fifty hands will be out of work. A TANNERY BURNED. Melbourne, Sept. 20. Zwar Brothers' tannery at Beechworth, ha 3 been destroyed by fire, The damage is estimated at £20,000,
DRILL HALL DESTROYED. Sydney, Sept. 20. A fire under suspicious circumstances broke out in the drill hall at Kogurah. Most of the building, military gear and rifles were saved, also many hundreds of rounds of ammunition. The official records were destroyed.
