Wool: There is a better tone in erossbrcds, and prices are hardening for best wools, and there is more general competition. The following prices were realised for the fleece portions of New Zealand clips named:—Kawakawa, top 17d, average 15Jd, St. Clair, top 19d, average lsjjd; Ngaturi, top l'jd, average lad; Tuarna, top 17d, average lojd. Received Sept. 19, 5.20 p.m. London, Sept. 18. Wool: There was good competition for all sorts, and the market was firm and unchanged. To date 86,704 bales have been catalogued and 70,321 bales sold. Prices realised:—Two Hearts, top 13Jd, average lljd; Two Hearts, crossbred, top 14d, average 13fd; Doondi, top 16d, average 143 d; Kiwakiwa, top 18jd, average Nijjd, Wcstdome, top 19d, average 17Jd. Wheat is firm. Chicago September options 103 cents to 106 cents; December !isl- cents to 974 cents.

Wellington, advise having received the following cablegram from their London office, under date of 15th inst.: Best merinos, greasy and scoured are firm; other merinos, irregular and 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, below open rates. Good greasy crossbreds are slightly easier. Other sorts aro 5 per cent, to 10 per cent, lower. Scoured slipe 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, lower.
