MOA ROAD BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Moa Road Board was held at Inglewood on Saturday. Present: Messrs H. Trimfrle (chairman), J. Bridgman, H. Hopson, J. Hacker, A. E. Lawrence, J. Shoemark, and J. Williams. OVERSEER'S REPORT. The overseer (Mr. W. R. Davies) reported that 25 chains had been done of the re-coating of the Egmonth Road South, between Gibsons and the old mill. He submitted an estimate of the protection work on tho Ngatoro River, estimated to cost £ls 2s 6d. On the top end of the Egraont Road South, watertables had been cleaned, etc., for a distance of 38 chains, and 22 chains of the road had been re-coated. On the Durham Road East an old wooden culvert opposite McDonald's required reJneiwiug. New watertables had been made for a distance of 61 chains. The Rugby Road had been re-coated for a distance of 18 chains 33 /eet. Watertables and culverts had been cleaned on the Lincoln Road. On the Everett Road the damage done to filling during the storm in July had been repaired. He estimated repairs to the tunnel near Crow's on the Motukawa Road to cost £ll 6s 9d. Estimates amounting to £133 10s were submitted for a concrete culvert on the Mana Road. During the last twelve months the following work had been done on the roads in the Moa Road Board's district:—s3o chains scarifying and rolling in, 471 chains metalling, 4511 chains watertabling, 158$ chains drain, and 601 chains unmetalled portion rounded up. It was decided to write to the Moa Dairy Company asking them to contribute to the cost of protecting the banks of the Ngatoro River. It was agreed to put in a concrete culvert opposite Mr. Crow's property on the Motukawa Road. Two sets of 3ft. pipes will be put in on the Mana Road by Mr. Young's property.
GENERAL. The Minister of Internal Affairs wrote that legislation dealing generally with the Bubject of funds established for relief and other purposes in connection with thewar was now receiving earnest consideration, and information concerning existing funds would accordingly be of the utmost value to the Government. The Mjjister asked for particulars respecting the fund under the board's control. —As the board has no fund, no action was taken. The Treasury advised that a subsidy of £250 had been placed to the credit of tho board. Accounts amounting to £232 18s 2d were passed for payment.
