THE CONTRABAND QUESTION. GOODS TO GO BY RAIL. Received Sept. 19, 5.20 p.m. Copenhagen, Sept. 18. Owing to the suspicion that food-laden steamers, ostensibly intended for Swedish ports, are really intended for German ports; the Swedish Government has issued a decree that prohibited articles must be sent from port to port by rail, and not by water. A COAL SHORTAGE. CAUSES MUCH ANXIETY. Received Sept. 20, 12.J10 a.m. Copenhagen" Sept. 18. There is great anxiety in Sweden at the non-arrival' of coal from England. Gasworks and private factories are in a desperate position. It is reported that Britain is annoyed at Sweden's refusal to allow an agreed amount of food to pass to and from Russia.
