NORTH TARANAKI DAIRY COMPANY.
The eighteenth annual meeting of shareholders, took place in the Urenui Town Hall on' Friday, Mr. S. Klliot presiding. The annual report and balancesheet, a& follows, were adopted:— Your directors regret the particular reason of the high values received for bntter, also that the drought in the early part of the season restricted supplies pf milk, bringing them lower than last year. However, the net result has been satisfactory. Milk for casein was also considerably le3s than the previous year, due probably to the fact of the uncertainty of the market, but, for the coming season, with an increased price, its is to be hoped there will bp an increased- supply. Considerable delay in returns has been caused by the want of labour at Home to discharge cargoes, in addition to the fact that steamers were not always available.' The quality of our output has retained its high standard.
Home separation increased during the year. It will be necessary, owing to altered Articles of Association, to take up a considerable further number of shares in the Box Company. .The balance allows a further payment of 2 l-8d to suppliers, the amount of which has been advanced.
The -following is a comparison with last year's figures, last year's returns being : shown in parentheses.:—Milk 0,1-28,08 libs (9,207,766); butter-fat, 5199181bs (534,612); butter, G10,2281bs (628,800); advances, £34,483 Is lid (£23,196 18s 9d); bonus, £4658 8s lid ( of cream were received. The over-run was 17.34.
