At the i,tst meeting of the Central School Committee the headmaster reported that the number on the roll wa3 5(?2, an increase of five during the month. The attendance as a whole was very satisfactory, the percentage for the month being !H" per cent of the roll. Mr. Ahier haij, kindly offered to provide for the school a memorial hoard to contain the names of I hose old pupils of the school who had lest their lives in defence of the Empire. On behalf of the committee ho hail accepted his offer and would prepare a list of the names of tlte old boys who had fallen. Mr. Partridge left for Trentham on Monday week and Miss Mouat had been appointed pupilteacher in his olnce.
