NEW TARIFF RATES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Particulars of the increased railway tariff will be gazetted to-morrow, to come into force on the 19th of the present month. AH passenger fares will, until further notice, be increased by one penny for every shilling or fraction of a shilling, except in certain cases mentioned elsewhere. Fares for workers twelve-trip commutation tickets for workers, and weekly tickets are to remain as at present. All charges for parcels, luggage, bicycles, horses, car. riages, motor cars, dogs, milk, etc., will bo increased 10 per cent. (Minimum increase one penny). All rates and charges in operation in respect to railway wharves, with the exception of charges for ships working overtime, will also be increased 10 per cent., with a minimum increase of Id. As regards excursion rates, first-class fares remain almost as at present, viz., twopence a mire return fare, with mileage counted one way only, but the second-class fare will be increased from a penny per mile to a penny and one-third. There has been considerable increase in the rates for tourist excursion tickets. Fares will be available over lines in both Islands for seven weeks for £l3 (as agamst £10), available over North Island only or South Island only for four weeks at £8 (instead of £6). Luggage left on the train or found unclaimed on railway premises will, j U future, be charged 3d as lost luggage, instead of 4d Left luggage will be subjected to a uniform rate of 3d on each package, instead of rates being graded from 2d to 6d according to the weight of the package The rate on left parcels is raised from At to *>d,
