U. A. O. D.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the U.A.0.D., Moturoa Lodge, No. 19, was held in the lodge room, Robe Street, last evening, a fair number of members being present. Brb. W. P. Nicoll presided. One brother was declared on the sick fund, and the bards' report being favorable, sick pay was passed to five brethren. Most of the evening was taken up in the discussion of the sub-committee's report in connection with formulating a local hospital fund for the members of Druids' Lodges. It was thought the time was now ripe fov starting such a fund that would be within the reach of every member, and it was suggested that if a limited amount of liability for hispital charges was fixed, together with a definite subscription, it would be better than the present arrangement. The sub-committee recommended that if the lodge started t)ie fund 011 a sure basis it could, when in a better financial position, always increase .the benefit. It was decided to adjourn the further discussion of the matter so as to make a general appeal to all the lodge members as soon as possible. Several old members were in lodge, and added greatly to the interest of the discussion.
