INCESSANT CANNONADING. FRENCH OFFICIAL REPORT. Paris, Sept. 12. A communique states that incessant Ibowbing, grenade fighting, and cannonading is continuing in the Neuville sector. The most violent, bombardments arc going on in the Roye region and between Passy and Craonelle, We. repulsed a fresh German attempt at Sapioneul. Our artillery, southward of Lientrey, was effective against a German concentration on our positions.' The German attack was immediately held up. German aeroplanes yesterday again bombed Compeigne. Our men effectively dropped heavy shells on the .German hangars at Brayelle, A GERMAN REPORT, if Amsterdam, Sept, 12. A German communique states: There have been lively artillery duels on the greater part of the western front. Gur mining ill the Champagne and Argonne districts greatly damaged the enemy trenches. Hostile airmen yesterday morning bomibed O'stcnd. There was neither damage nor casualties. FRENCH OFFICIAL REPORT. Received Sept. 13, 9.55 p.m. Paris, Sept. 13. A communique states:—Our artillery in Paissy region replied effectively in a reciprocal cannonade which lias lasted for the last five days. DEATH FROM ILL-TREATMENT. Received Sept. 13, 8.55 p.m. Havre, Sept. 13. Father Brouwers, attached to the Belgian army, died at Osnabruck, where he was a prisoner, as the result of German ill-treatment.
