RED CROSS MART.

TO BE OPENED TO-DAY. A Red U'oss Mart, the profits from which are for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, will be opened in New Plymouth to-dav in a shop in Devon Street, next to Sole Bros. The mart will be open from 9 a.m. to fi p.m., and after to-day it will be continued during these hours on every Saturday during the Avar. The scheme is not a new one, as if has been a pronounced success in several towns in New Zealand and it is hoped that the mart will receive plenty of support in New Plymouth, so that it mayprovide an excellent medium for augmenting the fund. Farmers and townspeople are asked to assist by providing vegetables, fruit, butter, cream, cheese, eggs, poultry, meat, ham and bacon, mms, sweets, cakes, home-made bread, preserves, .pickles, honey, wines, flowers, seeds, seedlings, books, magazines, pictures, cash, etc.
