MONTHLY MEETING. . The ordinary monthly meeting of the Parihaka Road- Board was held at Rahotu on Thdrsday, when there were Jrresent: Messrs T. Harvey, C. Cassie and S. Kennedy; reported that with Mr. Willoughby/ .he had inspected the Piingarere rived encroachment on the Upper Rahotu road Four chains of cutting through Mr. Willeox's property would ;be necessary' Jo straighten the river. It was estimated that the cost of-this cut would be £35. Mr. Willcox had agreed to give consent for the cutting to go through' his property. r, Mr. Cassie was doubtful whether a cut, as suggested, would not rtnder the Board liable to damage that might be done to any property below. He favored a groin. The foreman considered the ground too treacherous for a groin. Kennedy) reported on river encroachment on upper Kahui road. Members stated that the flew ranger (Mr. J. Coffey) appeared to be doing good work, and was visiting the roads frequently. r ihe elerk stated that a fair revenue was being received from the poufid. It was decided to ask the ranger to submit to the Board a monthly report of the roads visited , and the cattle found straying thereon, GENERAL. Martin Brophy was granted permiusion, to place a three-quarter .inch pips under the Waiteaka road, provided the work is done to the satisfaction of.tho foreman. The foreman was instructed to attend to a rough portion of the Warea road, just below tho mill. The cuairnian and Mr. Cassie were appointed to sign rate books.
