Fine crossbreds are hardening, largely in response to American bidding. The following prices were realised for the fleece portions of the clips named:—Tourere, top price 18d, average lGd; Ligtbrooke IBd and 173 d. Copper: Spot £B7 2s Gd to £67 7s Gd; three months £6B 7s 6d to £6B 123 6d. Lead: Spot £23 ss; three months £22 12s Gd. Wheat: Sparingly offered. Linseed oil: £25 10s. Turpentine: 34s 3d.

The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable a&rice from its London office:—The wool sales opened on the 7th. Merinos, good unchanged, inferior 5 per cent, dearer; others firm; slipea 7i per cent, cheaper. ARGENTINE MEAT. London, Sept. 8.
