Todd Bells is a handsome dark chestnut, anding 15.3; a straight-out trotter with beautiful action, and exceptionally good tempered, An aristocrat of his line, with purple lineage second to none, and inherits the speed and foal-getting qualities of his sire— Abbey Bells. The sire of Todd Bells was a straightout trotter, and has a public trial of 2.15 at 3 years. He is also the sire of Grattan Bells, champion 2-year old trotter of Australasia, record 2.29; Oeiavan Chimes, champion 2-year-old pacer. Australasian record 2.26J; Laughing Bells, 2.29; Charming Bell, 2.32; Bells, 2.33. All these records were put up as two-year-olds. Countess of Todd, dam of Todd Bells, is the only mare In Australasia by that 1 remarkable young sire Todd (2.14), who was sold by auction in America for £6OOO. Todd is by Bingen (2,61), sire of Uhlan (1.54), the world's champion straight-out trotter, The stamina of the family is undeniable, This is the stock to breed to, This is your opportunity. Take it, If your marc is good enough, there is a chance of a product that may even surpass Todd Bells in speed, style,* stamina and handsomenesst with the certainty offsetting something really useful for the track, the road, the farm, the show ring, or the Army Purchase Department. Murmur,.dam of Havoc, is one of the best brood mares in New Zealand, she having produced Havoc (4.36), Sonol (2.12), Hova (4.47) Higbden (2.26) and Skylark (7.32 for 3 miles). Havoc has proved himself a great racehoise, winning over all distances. He won the Auckland Trotting Cup as a three-year-old in 4.?7, Flumpton (4.46), King Gedrge (4.47); second to Emmcline in 2A$, and second to King Cole in 4.3T, in which race he had to break an Australasian record.
