A STARTLING REPORT. FIFTY ENEMY SUBMARINES LOST. New York, September 2. An oll'icer on board the Adriatic (White Star Line) reports that the submarine which sank the Arabic was captured by the British and the crew are now prisoners in England. The officer asserts that Britain has captured or sunk fifty German submarines already. BRITISH SHIPPING. Received Sept. 3, 10.30 p.m. London, Sept. 3. For the week ending September 1 there were 1353 arrivals and departures. Three vessels were sunk, aggregating 6757 tons. MORE SINKINGS. Received Sept. 3, 11.30 p.m. London, Sept. 3. The steamers Whitefield and Savona have been submarined and sunk/ Three of the tatter's crew perished.
