GALATA BRIDGE DESTROYED. TURKS CLAIM A SMALL SUCCESS. London, August 31. The Exchange Telegraph's Athens correspondent said that a submarine blew up a portion of the Galata Bridge. (The Galata Bridge connects Stamboul with Galata and Pera, suburbs of Constantinople, which are separated by the Golden Horn. Portion of it was blown up some time sgo.) Constantinople, August 31. Official.—Our artillery on the left wing at Seddul Bahr destroyed an enemy position.
TURKS "FED UP." CAMPAIGN MAY SOON CONCLUDE. Received Sept. 1, Via p.m. London, Sept. 1. A naval wireless operator at Gallipoli writes that tilie general opinion is that the campaign will conclude soon. He says: "Big things are happening, and the Turks are getting very 'fed-up.' Our airmen are active and have established supremacy;(there are always two.or three above us." a laWenemy statement. AN ATTACK REPULSED. Received Sept. 1, 7.4 a p.m. Amsterdam, Sept. 1. A Constantinople wireless states: The enemy renewed the attack, on Saturday, Gii Anafarta, but were completely repulsed with severe loss. We counterattacked and regained several trenches. Our losses were comparatively small.
