CONSCRIPTION CAMPAIGN. Sydney, September 1. Mr. Ilolman slates that, owing to the number of resolutions favoring conscription sent from the recruiting associations, the Assembly will soon be afforded an opportunity to express an opinion on the matter. DEFENCE OF THE CAMPS. Melbourne, September 1. In the House Mr. l'earcc, replying to criticisms, said the Defence Department eunqn compared favorably with those of the citizen forces. There were some grumblers, but they must be expected among the thousands of men passing through the eamj>3. It was undesirable that the men should be pampered.
THIC WAR LOAN. Melbourne, September 1. Mr. Fisher anticipates that .C 10.000,000 will be subscribed as a first instalment of the War Loan.
