Twenty lads from the training-ship Cornwall were rowing at Purfleet when a squall drove a tug upon the rowing boat, and cut it in halves, sinking it immediately. An officer and sixteen lads were drowned. The current was too strong for the most powerful swimmer. LOSSES t)N GOVERNMENT IMPORTS. Perth, August 21.
