ENTERTAINMENTS.
ROYAL MOTORIS. There was only a small attendance at the Theatre Royal last night, when an entertaining programme of pictures waa presented. The first portion of the programme comprises % variety of interesting pictures, several of the comic studies toeing very laughaible. The firßt of a. series of pietures of New Zealand scenery i 9 shown. It is an excellent film ami embraces many of the most picturesque partj of the Cold lakes region, while some glimpses of Dunedin and Invercargill add interest to the picture. The beauty spots of this charming part of New Zealand aro done full justice to and this film alone should induce people to visit the Theatre Royal to-night, when this programme will be shown for the last time. The star picture featured is an absorbing drama entitled "The Millionaire Brigand." The various scenes in the story are set in magnificent mountain scenery, where the lighting effects are varied and', beautiful, and it is the treat in picturesque scenes which the picture provides which gives it its chief 'merit. The' story is strong, ibut the acting and the incidents—some of which were not of a pleasant nature, and tended to stain the picture—are not as good as in some of the excellent "star" films shown at the Theatre Royal recently. The picture abounds with dramatic incidents, and the scenes showing brigands at war in the rugged, mountainous country are particularly) good. Tonight is the last showing of this programme,
