lIIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Yesterday. The following is the High Commissioner's market report, under date London, August 28. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, arc average market prices on spot.) ; Mutton: Canterbury and oilier New Zealand brands are not quoted officially, for reasons already given on August 21. There is a very limited supply at the market, selling at: Canterbury, 7id per lb; other than Canterbury, 7Jd; there is better demand for ewes at 5Jd. Lamb: Fair demand continues. Canterbury SJd, heavy -weight 7Jd; there is a good demand on account of the scarcity of wethers. Other than Canterbury is selling at 8 l-10d for best quality light weight. Beef: Onlv a small quantity of second qualiiv New Zealand beef at the market. This is selling at, hinds "id, fores GJd; chilled is in moderate supply at, hinds BJd, fores GJd. Butler: The market is quiet, and prices easier. Danish is very slow at lCos to 1119s; Siberian, in good demand, 134s to 138s; Irish creamery, quiet, 154-9 to 158s; Argentine, good inquiry, 152s to 1545.

Clieeso: .The market is quiet, but steadier. Canadian is quiet at 72s to 745, according to quality and condition; English eheddar, quiet, 945; New Zealand, quiet, fine to finest 71s to 735, and up to 745; United States, slow, 06s to 70s, but that which is not in good condition is selling at 58s to 04s. Hemp: The market is very quiet. New Zealand, good fair grade per ton £32; fair £3O; a forward shipment is quoted at the same price. Manila new graded fair £3B. The output from Manila for the week was 20,000 bales. Wheat: Market is dull and prices irregular, the demand being principally speculative. Canadian and American crops are reported to be good. Canadian old crops on passage 51s per quarter, new crop (Soptembu- to October shipment) 45a Od, October to November 455; American, new crop (August to September) 45s Bd. Oats: The market is quiet, and small business is doing. Argentine, on spot, 25s per quarter, August to September shipment 24s 6d.
