Bishop Barlow, late of (iouiburn (New Smith Wales), at the age of 50. The engagement is announced of Miss Ellen If. Jones, second daughter of Mr. G. Jones, ■Midhirst, to Mr. T. \V. Henderson, of Auckland.—Post. Private Leslie Lee, who was killed in action at the Dardanelles, waa a son of Mrs. V. Barker, of Sexton Street, Stratford. Before leaving for the front, Private Lee was employed by Mr. J. Martin, of Stratford. A private cable received in Hawera on Saturday stated that Mr. F. Morriasey, who is well known in the district, 13 leaving for the front with a contingent from Queensland. Before leaving New Zealand Mr. Frank Morris-sey waa a member of the staff of the Xew Zealand Loan and 'Mercantile Agency Co., Hawera. The death took place at the Patea hospital early yesterday morning of Mr. Mostly, sciw,, father of Mr. Horoee Priestley, formerly electrical engineer to the Patea Borough Council. The deceased, who was 77 years of age, had been in failing health for some time, and his death was not altogether unexpected.
