THREE NEW PLYMOUTH MEX. News was received yesterday of the deatli in action at the Dardanelles of three Xew Plymouth men—(Private Arthur V. Carbines (formerly manager of the Xew Plymouth branch of Messrs J. C. Spedding and Co.); Sergeant Reg. G. Sole (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Sole, of New IPlymouth); and Private Charlie Crone (son of Mr. J. Crone, of New Plymouth). ! Sergeant Sole, who was 2fi years ot age, was educated at the Central school, after which he joined the firm of Messrs Henry Brown and Co., subsequently beii:,i.' employed by Messrs Boon Bros. Sergeant Sole was an enthusiastic volunteer, and when the war -broke out he joined the main expeditionary force. In Egypt he was promoted from private to sergeant. The sympathy which is felt for Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Sole will be increased by the fact that this is.their second son who has given his life for the Empire. Private Arthur Carbines came to Xew Plymouth from Auckland some years ago, and as manager of S'peddingV he made himself very popular in business circles here. Private Carbines was an excellent pianist, and he increased his popularity by his generosity in assisting at entertainments. He went away with the main body. Private Charlie Crone was an old boy of the High School, and left with the main expeditionary force. HAWERA BOYS KILLED. A private message was received in Hawera last night .=uying that Private Horace WhitUngton, son of the late Mayor of Hawera, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. Private Clarence Ma.r,ter, brother-in-law of Mr. Wilkie, of Hawera, has been killed in action at the Dardanelles. '
