MEAT EXPORT.
IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT PURCHABES. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Night. Up to, and including, yesterday, the meat purchased and shipped by the Imperial Government meat supply branch, on behalf of tho Imperial Government, comprised 183,37.1 quarters beef, 1,385,890 carcases mutton, and 2,032,320 carcases of lamb. Of this quantity 121,731 quarters beef, 708.786 carcases mutton, and 1,220,230 carcases of lamb have already arrived at their dostinatjfln'and 59,281 quartors beef, 530,988 carcases mutton, 705,720 carcases lamb are en route in tho following steamers:—lndrabarah, Waiwera, Tongariro, Indrapura, La Blanca, Delphic, Athenic, Corinlhic, Ruabine, and Somerset. The balance has been loaded into vessels at present on the loading berth in the dominion. Tho quantity of meat in store on the J4th inst. (the date of the last stock-taking) was 1,080,007 601b carcases, but this is being rapidly reduced, and after tho depuilure of the nine steamers expected for September loading there should bo considerably less than a million freight '•ureases in store. The total purchases amount to no less a sum than £3,774,793 fis7d.
