COMPLAINTS RE A HOSPITAL OFFICIALS RECALLED. ReccivoS August 24, 10.10 p.m. Melbourne, August 21 Senator Pcarce states that as a result of au investigation, through the British Army Council, into complaints about the First Australian General Hoßpital at Cairo, certain changes in personnel were considered necessary, and this involved' the recall of Lieutenant-Colonel RamsaySmith and Matron Bell to Australia. SCENE "ii PREMANTLE. Received August 24, 10.10. •i Fremantie, August 24, On receipt of hew* of the Riga naval victory joyoue ; crowds panned the streets, and demonstrated against the houses and shops of Germans and naturalised Cerraahs. Numbers of windows were broken and: other damage resulted. The police restored order.
