OLD MAX'S DEATH. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Wellington. August 20. Alfred Jell'cry, aged 71 vears, was found dead at 'iOl.'Tinakori' road, this morning. lie was last seen alive by Thomas Laskey, who took him a cup of tea at 7 o'clock last evening. Deceased had been ailing for some time, but refused to see a doctor or so to the Old Men's Home, as he had been advised, lie. I ween (i and 7 o'clock this morning lie was heard muttering to himself, and an hour late- was found dead in his room. .MOTOR-CAR FATALITY. 'Xapier, Saturday. A little girl named Bessie Robin was knocked down by a motor-car at the West Shore last 'night and sustained a fractured skull. She was admitted to the Xapier Hospital and died this morning.
