MOA ROAD BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. The Moa Road Board met at Inglewood on Saturday. Present: Messrs .11. Trimble (chairman), J. Bridgraan, Shoemaker, 0. Capper, (5. Clough, M. Hopson, J. Hucker, J. Williams and A. Lawrence, OVERSEER'S REPORT. The overseer reported that the recent severe storm had caused three large and two small slips on the Motukawa road, a large slip on the Kaimata road, two slips and a broken culvert on the Mangaoiii! road, a small slip on the Bristol road, a large slip on the Rimutautaka road, and there were other cases of small damage on other roads. Patching work had been done on the roads where required. On the Dudley road 140 yards of metal had been placed. Several road repair works had been carried out. Repairs to the Motukaroa road cost £2O 12s Ctl. Thirtythree pipes were made during the month. The overseer asked for three more 3ft moulds. - The report was adopted, audi the overseer was authorised to carry out necessary works, GENERAL. Mr. Capper drew attention to statements made that the roads in the Moa district were in a bad condition, and he thought an independent engineer should be procured to make a report on the roads. In some quarters everything possible was being done to oppose the Moa County Bill, and he thought that an independent report would assist those in support of a new county. After a short discussion it was decided to procure a report on the roads in the district from the overseer, the to be used to combat any statements in regard to the roads made by members of the Taranaki County Council. A special order was made striking a rate of 25-12 d in the £ over the Ngatoro bridge area. Accounts amounting' 16 £283 Cs Sd were passed for payment.
