COWS POISONED BY MOLASSES. By Telegranh.—Press Assodi.tfon. Wliangarei, Last Night. Judgment was given yesterday by Mr. Page, S.M., in the cow poisoning case of Herbert Shalders versus James Harrison and Sons. PlaintiA' claimed £94 ss, damages, caused by prize cattle being poisoned after eating molasses supplied by defendants. The magistrate held that the sickness of the cattle wa9 due to the presence in the molasses of impurities, in the form of mineral oil and a small amount of ultramarine. He gave judgment for plaintiff -for £32 10a 6d, and costs £27 12s 9d. The case was the first of its kind held in the dominion. Leave to appeal was given.
