ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of St, Andrew's Presbyterian Church was held last evening, when the Rev. James Pattison presided over a fair attendance of member*. The reports of the various organisations with their relative balance-sheets wero read and adopted, and showed life and activity throughout the past year. A resolution of sympathy with tho Rev. T. 11. Roseveare in hiS illness was carried, as also was a resolution condemning raffles and lotteries promoted in connection with the raising of fund# for wounded soldiers, Red Cross purposes, and other like objectß. MANAGERS' REPORT.
The report stated.!— The treasurer's balance-sheet shows that, while we started the year with an overdraft of £75 ISa Bd, we closed it with a credft of £24 13* fid. As, however, the sum of £3l 13s (being amount of subscriptions to missions) has been forwarded to the General Treasurer, Wellington, as having been subscribed during the year, our credit balance must, therefore, be considered a* a debit balance of £6 19s 3d. Sabbath collections amounted to £ 332 7a 3d. JEte* ferenec to the last balance-sheet shows that these have fallen off £2O 2s 3<l for the year, Seat rents amounted to £74 7s (id, an increase of £7 10s. On the committee of management, Mr. J. 8. Leitch, who retired by rotation, was re-elected, and Mr. W. Ogle was elected in the place of Mr. A. Smart, who retired, t The envelope system roll now numbers 58. During the year Miss A. H, Smith has ably filled,the position of organist; Mr. McClellan tendered his resignation as choir master, which was accepted with regret, and Mr. Lambert was appointed to the position. Very hearty thanks are due to the Ladies' GuUd for a donation of £SO in cash and a piano. Thanks are also due to the lady members of the congregation, who gave £5 to asphalt the paths in front of the church, and to the boys of the Junior Bible CJaaa for the cheerful way in whicb they eollsoted £2l 16s for the erection of a ol*a»-room for their meetings, which room hu btm built at the side of the smaller school" room.
