SUBMARINES AT WORK. CUMBERLAND COAST SHELLED. London, August 10. A submarine shelled Parton, Harrington, and Whitehaven and caused fires in Whitehaven and Harrington. They were extinguished without material damage and no casualties were caused. (A few shells hit the railway embankment north of Parton, and slightly delayed the train service. STEAMERS LOST.
