NEW ZEALAND MEAT GIFT. By Teleerauh. —Press Assoclfttrun. AVellington, Last Night. The secretary for the New Zealand Fui)d for the Relief of the Poor of limit Britain and Ireland and Belgium has been informed that the meat sent home for the poor has been distributed. Jt consisted of l!)4(i carcases of mutton, 1 carcase of lamb, 18 hindquarters of beef, 1C forequarters of beef (per 8.9. Mimiro) and 579 carcases of mutton (per s.s. Waimate). The High Commissioner informs Mr. Shallerass that the instructions as to distribution were duly given effect to, as desired. The 100 careases allotted by the Wairarapa Committee to the Belgian refugees' Food Fund were handed over to the secretary (Miss Holmes), and the remainder of the shipment was divided between the National Food Fund and the Belgian Refugee Food Fund for distribution. "1 have made personal enquiry as to these channels of distribution, and am satisfied thc.y are thoroughly genuine, and that the distribution of the kind gifts will be judiciously and carefully curried out," writes Mr. Mackenzie, concluding with, "Many thanks to your committee for their kindness."
