WORK AT TRENTHAM.

Within the past few weeks the various agents for the Labor Department havo sent almost 400 workmen to Trcnthnm Camp anil an additional score to Feiith* crston. The majority of the men liavt. been drawn from Wellington City, li:l fairly large numbers have come fruit ('liristehurch, whilst Timaru, Ashburton, Blenheim, Wanganui, Palmerston North, and Auckland have sent a qu.ota. Wherever carpenters have been available they have been offered work at Trentham: i» fact the Department has made a special appeal to competent men to proceed at onee to take up employment at the camp. General laborers have a I-to been culled on in large numbers. Among the workers are several men who have enlisted'awl are waiting to be called up for service with the reinforcements In Wellington. This call for worker* has* practically put an end for the time boing to unemployment amongst laborers and carpenters.'" Pressure in Christehurch has also been relieved considerably.
