TO HELP THE WOUNDED.

A DAFFODIL TEA. Under the auspices of the Xew Plvmouth branch of the Victoria League "a daffodil tea was held in the Good Templar Hall yesterday afternoon, in aid of !No. 1 Stationary Hospital. The function was managed by Mrs C II Burgess, president of the league, who is to be congratulated on the excellence of the arrangements, which provided an enjoyable afternoon. The hall was tastefully decorated and the stalls looked tempting in their distinctive characters. First there was a home-made cako stall, which was presided over by Mesdames K. V. Blundell, Addonbvooke and Matthews. The flower stall presented a pretty picture, being liberally filled with da/I'odiis and other flowers, and it was managed by Mesdames C, H' Burgess, IT. Brookmaii, E. A. Walker V. Bluudell, and the Hisses Crooks. " ,\ number of ladies dispensed afternoon tea, those assisting being Mesdames Mills, Stocker, Heard, Rocke], Bowden Firth, Misses E. (Iraiit, Baker, F. Bturtevant, V. AVinfield, Eenaud, Peed, K. Mills, Whitcomc, (tower (2), Goldwutcr Roy, Bakewell, and E. Greatbach. Flagsj flowers, and other articles were sold by Nurses Jackson and Daplyn, assisted by Christine Wylic, Mary Russell, Eileen Blundell, Audrey Ebberlctt, a«d Hope Asher. During the al'tenionu musical items were rendered by Miss C. Leatham (pianoiorte solo), Miss M'arlow (song), Mrs. Phil Nathan (recitations), Miss Vita Gilbert (song), and Mrs. and Miss Marlow (pianoforte duet). There was a large attendance, and all the workers did good business. It is expected a "ood sum will be realised far the fund.
