» ♦ PATEA FREEZING WORKS. The net profits of the Patea Farmers' Co-operative Freezing Company, Ltd., for the rear, after making safe allowance for depreciation, amount to £19,711 2s 3d, from which, however, must be deducted the debit balance of last year, amounting to £7122 15s lOd, and leaving available for distribution £12,588 Cs sd. The directors have written £2084, equal to 13% per cent, off their ferro-concrele buildings, and 10 per cent, off the machinery. The company owes the Bank of New Zealand £28,511 17s Bd, and has borrowed in addition £22,SISC 12s Id, or a total liability under these two headings of £sl, 498 9s 9d. Against this, however, stpcks of meats, already sold to the Government, chemical manures, etc., represent £55,668 is 7d. The company, thanks to the big demand for meat, lias gone ahead splendidly, and its success shows what cooperation among the producers can accomplish,
