Tile aUcration lias been necessitated owing to tiie desire of the authorities to have the camp properly roaded, and oilier improvements v made, before - the new draft goes in. The heavy Hoods (jx-perk-nfed in the llutt river having interfered wllh getting metal from the gravel beds, the laying down of permanent roads in the camp has been somewhat do'ayed, but. good progress is now being made, and it is hoped io have the earnp in proper order by the 23rd. The hope is expressed, therefore, that those who have been coiled up for the 17th will remain ,(n their employment for a little longer, .and that employers will assist thorn in doing -this, thereby helping the Defence authorities.
