A Berlin wireless says that the Lokal Ansieger prints a letter declaring that the British seized a Dutch steamer, and compelled her to nightly make tlic voyage from Dover to Calais, running the gauntlet of German submarines. She was frequently endangered' by airship bombs, but the German airmen recognised the Dutch colors. Many Americans were aboard. GERMAN FLEET ACTIVE. REPULSED AND DAMAGED. Received August 10, 10 p.m. I'etrograd, August 10. A German fleet of nine battleships-, .twelve cruisers, and a large number of destroyers, made persistent attacks on the entraace to the Gulf of Riga. They were repulsed everywhere. Our sea,planes, bj? throwing bombs, contributed to our success. Our mines damaged an enemy cruiser and two destroyers. IN THE GULF OF RIGA.
! ,;.J THE OFFICIAL REPORT. * Received August 11, 1.23 a.m. Petrograd, August 10. Official: A German fleet yesterday appeared off Dii'ben Channel, at the entrance to the Gulf of Riga, evidently intending to break the mine barrier which our fleet is protecting. The attacks were repulsed, the enemy losing three ships, which were damaged by our mines. Our losses were nil. NORWEGIAN BARQUE SUNK. Received August 10, 9.49 p.m. Copenhagen, August 10. The Norwegian barque Nsrmand was sunk, and the crew, after four hours in the boats, landed at Christiania.
