(Kroin Our Own Correspondent.) MAGISTRATE'S COURT. The Court work to-day was small. A first offender was fined 10s for drunkenness, in default 48 hours' Imprisonment. F. W. Scott, £2 0a; Cole and Donnelly v. A. E. Adams, £5 5» 6d, In the judgment summons case, 11. A, Jones and Co. (for whom Mr. Bailey, of Mr. P. O'Dea's office, appeared) v. Taungataka for £0 14« Cd. defendant, who did not appear, was ordered to pay the amount forthwith, of In default seven days' imprisonment. GENERAL. Inspector Wilson passed through oa the mail this morning. Mr. T. Muir, the popular secretary of the Hawcra Druids' Lodge, went to Wellington this morning on an eitandM Messrs Batten (chairman of director!) and Judo (secretary), of the Riverdftlo Dairy Co., represent that body at the annual meeting of the Bo* Company at Eltham to-day, Mr, Dixon (Mayor), who hu bwn interesting himself on behalf of parents and others in connection with granting special fares to enable them to witness the departure of reinforcements, received the following wire from the Hon. W. H. Herries this morning;—"l regret that no special concessions can be granted to parents and others travelling to Wellington to witness the departure of the re< inforcements." Mr. H. Hanna, solicitor, Of Christchurch, and formerly on the Staff of Messrs Halliwell and Sollar, leaves for home b+ the ihall train on Wednnday.
