AXNT'AL REPORT. The ninth annua] report of the Egmont Box Company, Ltd.. to be presented to shareholders at the meeting to be held at Eltham on August 10, states that, owing to the war. there had been a reduced turnover of 2% per cent., in ■Jlacc of a hitherto normal increase of from 10 to 12'/;, per cent, previously. After writing off £IOO for bad debts, £-100 for exhausted hush, and £4554 13s Cd for depreciation, the surplus was OWO. A dividend of 0 per cent, on paid-up capital is recommended, leaving £'»B7 to be dealt with. The policy adopted as to the Taurewa bush area had been to push the work on. Upwards of £24.000 had up t<s June .10 last, been expended on the work and a further £1.5,000 would be required to complete steam tramways and other work in hand, giving a complete through road to the Main Trunk line. It was hoped to have the work completed and giving appreciable returns (luring 1017.
