AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—rress Association. Auckland, Yesterday. The Auckland Provincial Amateur Boxing Tourney was held at the Town Hail last night. The finals resulted:— Bantams. —H. Gilchrist (Ellerslie) defeated J. Nickles (Auckland), the referee stopping the fight in the second round. * Feather-weights.—E. Dowsing (Auckland) defeated W. Whale (New Lynn). Light-weights.—A. Bennett (flisborne) beat F. Craig (Auckland) in the semifinal, but an injured thumb prevented him from contesting the final with M. James, who retains the championship. Welter-weights.—J. Kelland (Taumarunui) defeated T. Jones (Waihi). Middle-weights.— j P. Closs (Auckland) defeated C. R. Robertson (Auckland). Heavy-weights—J. McTTugh (Auckland) defeated X. Lewis (Giaborne).
