This lias live subsidiary branches, 'all Herman, and the chief of lliese is the Metallgescllsdiaft, of Frankfort. This again had two offshoots, namely, Mertons (London) and the American .Metal Company. Mertons is registered as an English company. The ti tal capital of the companies is £950(HID, nearly half of which is held by German bankers. Doubtless Mertons <!iifc •oil' its German relations, but it ia nevertheless a unit of a German organisation fur the control of the metal market of the world.
