RESCUE WORK MEETING,
On Sunday afternoon a large congrega. tiou gathered at the fcyalvation Artny Hall to list™ to an, address, by Adjutant Scotney, on the Salvation Army's rescue work. His Worship the Alu \ur, Mr. J. K. Wilson, presided, and on th« platform were a number of Salvation Army sympathisers. After the opening hymn, and a prayer by the Rev. F. Hales., his Worship expressed his love ana admiration for the Salvation Array's rescue work, and said it gave him very great pleasure to preside nt such ft gathering. , ' Adjutant Scotney then spoke for *u hour on the Salvation Army's rescue work, as carried on in the dominion, and gave a splendid account of the work of the. twenty-four rescue institutions in v cw Zealand. Adjutant Scotney aJso touched on the international work and gave an account of the /part the anny Is playing in connection with the present war, and of how the Salvation Army's niotor ambulances are being of grent service to the wounded on the battlefield.
At the close of the address a vote of thaivka, 011 the motion of Mr. Colli#, was accorded the lecturer, and a_ similar vote was accorded his Worship for ■ presiding, bringing to a close a most interesting and successful gathering. '
