A Maori woman, Xgawine who lived fourteen miles from Siauakaii, was fatally burnt last Monday through her clothes accidentally catching fire. SHOT 13 V A SKXTltl'. Wellington, August, 2. About. 3 o'clock yesterday morning a man named Beaver was shot in the shoulder by a sentry at Fort Dorset. 'I he authorities are reticent, hut stated that Denver said lie was joking to s">> if the sentry's rifle was loaded or if he would use il.
