.Mr. Hurt O'llrisecll, formerly of \»-\v Phmomth, has joined the Australian Contingent, and is now at the front. -Mr. W. 11. Hawkins, of Tataraimaka, has received word that his son Percy, who was wounded after five days in the trenches, has recovered and returned to the front. He received bullet woundsy in both legs, in the fleshy part of ijM left thigh ami the right 'calf. W^ Constable (Vltricu is leaving Waverley in about two months' time, having received notice of transfer to Morrinsville. Constable O'Drien has been stationed in Waverley now for nearly 25 years, and has made a very wide circle. of friends amongst all classes of the community. Constable Lowry, of Morrinsviltc, has been appointed to succeed Constable OTirieii.
