SHOOTING AFFRAY.
THE WELLINGTON INCIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Inquiries regarding the Martin Street ' tragedy, in which Harry Parslow fatally shot himself after firing a shot at Ernest William Collingwood, go to show that the affair was chiefly due to drink. Mrs. Parslow states that, on account of his drinking habits, she had been living apart from her husband for about »ir months, but they had lived together again for the past week or two, during whichfttime he still continued to drink. The revolver was ail old one, which aha had originally purchased for her • protection. Collintfwood used to take a room from her during the time ho was on leave from Somes Istaid, whece lie was a guard, and, yesterday afternoon he and her husband .and daughter were talking together, for a considerable tinn>. Her husband was under the influence of liquor, and appeared considerably annoyed that he was unable to sit on the sofa. Suddenly he pulled "Hut pistol out I of liia pocket, and, without the slightest warning, fired at Collingwood, who had ' a remarkably narrow eseipe. Then Parslow shot himself in the head, the wound proving fatal.
