The annual meeting of the Hawera Tradesmen's Association was held ill Mr. Navr's oflice this afternoon. .Mr. A. Hlair (president) occupied the chair and presented tin. annual report. The bal-ance-sheet did not disclose a very healthy state of alVairs. there being a small debit on the year's transactions The following ollicers were duly elected for tie' ensuing year:- President, ..Mr. A. lilair; vice-president. W. Spruce: secretary, K. Save; executive, Messrs .1. C. Smith, ,1. Keel), E. Dixon, (I. I.iddington, 'I. Harris. .1. l'ricstly, and L. O. Hooker; trustees, Messrs Done and Savgent; auditor, ,1. Harding. Mr. Smith's motion: 'That the association lie dissolved" was then considered, and an amendment was carried that: "A committee of lour be set up to canvass tii" tradesmen and explain the position of the society, especially pointing out elm good work done by the night-watchman, and to report to a general meeting to be held ill two weeks' time. The following canvassing committee was then set up: Messrs Hooker, Blair, Priestly, arid Smith, A hearty vote of thanks to the president concluded a very enthusiastic meeting.
