MATTHEWS. HAMLIN AND 00.'S •REPORT. Owing to the very wet weather on Wednesday last, we held no sale in our Inglewood yards. On Thursday, July 22. we held a verv successful sale, in conjunction with Messrs. iWebster, Dohson and O'o., at Mr. (leorge Kennedy's, there being a. very large attendance from all parts of the district, and. everything being absolutely without reserve, bidding was brisk throughout. Prices wore as follow: —■ Earlv culvers 18 to £l4 10s, others 15 10s to 17. heifers in calf (small) 13 2s fid to 14, ewes in lamb 25s 3d; horses £7 10s to 130 10s: 'implements, sundries and furniture at satisfactory prices. ADDINGTOX MARKET. Chriatchurch, July 21. At the Addington live stock market there were moderate, yarding* of Lit stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle, fat lambs, and fat sheep showed an advance in price. Good store sheep, especially ewes, ewe hoggets, and wethers, sold well.

BURNSIDE MARKET. Dimedin, July. 21. There was a large entry of cattle at Biirnnide to-day, 230 being yarded. A great proportion of the entry was of medium quality, and required another month's feeding. Prime beef was eagerly competed for, as has been the case for a number of weeks, and satisfactory prices were obtained. The sale, opened with prices 7s fid below lmt week's rates, but values hardened as. it progressed, until last week's level was reached. Prime bullocks £l4 to ,£'.s ss, extra prime to £l6 ]os, medium £l2 5s to £l3 10s, light £8 17s 6d to £io 7s Od, prime cows and heifers £lO 5s to £l2 to £ls 15s, medium £7 12s 6d to £0 ss. . Fat sheep.—Only 28C0 wore penned, and this number was made up chiefly of ewes of fair to medium quality with a few hundred prime wethers. Competition was particularly brisk throughout, butchers bidding with great freedom, and prices showed an advance oT 2s (id to 3n on last week's rates. Fat lambs—The .entry totalled 11-10, mosi.'y of only medium quality, quite a number of Hip pens having the appcaraiiee of liaviiiy been in better condition a short time apo, and failing in condition from loss of teeth. There were a few pens of splendid quality, and these realised very satisfactory prices. Export buyers were competing with more freedom, and'prices advanced Is to Is lid per head. Porkers and baeoners were in pood demand, aud owing to the small yarding realised an advance on late values. For good slips and stores there was better competition at slightly improved values, but for suckers there was only a moderate demand.
