Wellington, Last .Night, Mr. Myers (Auckland Fast) lias givrn notice to a,-)'c the Prime -Minister whether, in view of the passing of the National Registration Bill in Great Britain, and tl:-- statement in the House of Lords bv the Marquis of Lansdowne (Minister without portfolio in Ih.? National Cabinet) that the British Cr.. vornjiient would be pleased if the 'Join inious thought fit to follow Britain in this matter, the New Zealand Government 'Will take into thfir immediate consideration the advisability of introducing a Bill providing for the registration ot onr national resources—(l) By making provision for the eom.pulsory registration of all men between the ages oi fifteen and sixty-five,-asking for particulars as to and present employment. and ascertaining fuom those who arc desirous of voluntarily offering ll>«-ir services what special form of labor is desired, other than that in which tkey are at ■present engaged: and ("2) tiy making provision for a register of the industrial, commercial and agricultural resources of Xew Zealand, showing w:,at industries have been affected by enlistments in the expeditionary force, and ; "ler ali.i (a) the num'tP; of men engttgcil in eaeli occupation, (b) t!ie iewest number of men required generally to cany on our primary and other industries. and (e) the estimated mimbe" who could 'lie released for service in directions which would assist the Imperial (iovil ament in the successful prosecution of our Empire's share In the war, without, interfering in any way with the production of our national food supplies and industries, or impairing the efficient, conduct of the Dominion's trade and commerce.
