The ratepayers in tlif Waitara Hiirbor district were called on yesterday to vote on tiie proposal of tile Harbor lioard to borrow L'IH.DOO, mainly for tile purchase of a dredge. A fair amount of interest was displayed in the poll, and the ratepa vers emphatically showed that tliey favored the scheme, the poll being carried by a huge majority. With five small returns to come, which cannot affect the result, the poll showed '245 votes in favor of the loan, against US vote;?. The details available last night were as follows: For. Againsit.
