The Congress adopted the programme, and .passed a resolution, expressing deep grief at the tragic happenings ■whereby De la Key, Beyers and Konrie had been sacrificed. A clerical delegate, in moving the resolution, urged that the ground where Fourie had been shot i for treason should he purchased, because it was holy ground. Tie hoped that a huge monument would be raised to the memorv of these men.
