AUSTRO-GERMAN OFFENSIVE. FIGHTING ALL ALONG THE LINX. Received July 17, 0.2.1 a.m. Petrograd, July 10. Ofiicial: The enemy captured 'several trenches at Pi/.'.a, in the Shkiva region, but. owing to his heavy losses on Wednesday, did not repeat'the attacks. We repulsed several attacks north of Rrasnysz. T]ie enemv, reinforced in the region of Riga and Sliavli. began to advance from JJasenpott on Gnld'nigcii. and tne sector of Schuirdcn and Popelianv. Our cavalry advance guards are upholding the enemy at the passages of the rivers in Windawa and Jcnia, and i.t other favorable positions. The Austrians on the Rltli took the offensive on the Mesviska-Okmi section, and attacked our bridgehead on the right bank in the district of Kunichovce and Kolianki. They crossed the Dneisfer in the districts of Ivnnijojava, Koscelniki, and Sinkow on the 14th. Our artillery bombarded them during the passage of the river, and obliged the enemy at some (daces to abandon the crossing. The engagement continues. ,
BATTLE OF THE SAN. RUSSIAN RESERVE BROICUT UP. WORK OF THE THIRD ARMY. Received July Hi, 1) p.m. (Times and .Sydney Sun Services.) London, July Hi. The Press Bureau reports that after the crossing of the San the Germans thought they were through the Russian lines, but the g.i.p was tilled instantly from th.> reserves'.
At another spot, the Germans launched their cavalry through what seemed as empty -space. Without delay the tide was stemmed, Cossacks riding in front. Xext day from everywhere fresh troops •were arriving, and measures were taken to re.ndej- a, repetition of the 'earlier losses unlikely.
Tlie Russians were 600 yards from the Germans, and bad orders to advance. 15y little stages, twenty men crawled forward together, scraped up a protection breast higb, and then established themselves while the Germans pelted them with shrapnel. Prisoners dated that, despite their success's in Oalicia, the mood of the Germans was nothing like it was al tire first great outburst of enthusiasm.
The. Times' correspondent with the Russian forces spent three days with the third nvmy, which had seen the hardest fighting. They entered Galicia. on the extreme oast last year; were fighting around LemlK'rg, Grodek and Przemysl, and thence in thr>. Carpathians, capturing, tiie commander informed him, 300,000 prisoners. Since then they hod been fighting with similar determination and stubbornness.

Tin' Minister of Agriculture announces that there is a magnificent harvest, with reserves of foodstuffs. .Russia is ready to continue the struggle for Vjcars. and will be able also to provide the necessary reserves for the armies of all the Allies. •
