Thirty submarines were being constructed and several naval airships, the dearest costing £32,444. SWEDISH STEAMER SUNK. Copenhagen, July 14. The Herald protests at the brutal effrontery of the commander of the German submarine who compelled the American barque Normanby to act as a mask while a Russian merchantman was sunk. It demands a prompt disavowal of the act and an apology for the Normanby s temporary arrest.
