CONTRABAND THROUGH RUMANIA. CONFISCATED BY AUTHORITIES. Received July 14, 5.5 p.m. London, July) 13. The Rumanian authorities state that they recently confiscated a train laden with barrels of Munich beer, regarding which the German authorities telegraphed asking that they should be liberally supplied -with ice-blocks. Suspicion was aroused, and the barrels were found to contain ammunition.
Enormous cement .blocks, consigned to Constantinople for building purposes; were found to 'be hollow and filled with shell cases for the large German howitzer?.
THE BUCHAREST OUTRAGE. Bucharest, July 1". M, Ghenadie.ff, a former Minister, has been arrested on a charge of giving 10,000 lire to the author of a bomb explosion in the Municipal Chamber. Sofia, July 13. Two persons were sentenced to death in connection with the Casino explosion, and four others to long terms of imprisonment. 31. Athens state* that Germany and Austria wish to obtain a definite understanding with Rumania in order to remove their troops on the "Rumanian frontier to the oilier theatres. Their insistence at Bucharest is reported to be taking less the form of an offer of compensation than a distinct threat.
